I'm in High School
How do I become an engineer?
Do you want to meet with an engineer?
ENGINEERING WANTS YOU TO CHANGE THE WORLD
To people with ideas and those who want to change the world, the Earth is a playground to be explored, understood, preserved and developed.
Engineers are not born. People become engineers through their passion for innovation, spectacular construction, mechanical and technical feats or to conserve our environment. We all wake up one day, look ourselves in the mirror and ask “What do I want to do with my life?” If you answer “I want to change the world… in my own way”, then you have engineering in your blood!
Think about it: Your future in engineering is not “secondary”… it starts now!
THERE ARE MANY ADVANTAGES TO BECOMING AN ENGINEER
On the road to a wonderful future!
As an engineering student, you are choosing a profession that is increasingly in demand. Information technology, biomedical research, aerospace and telecommunications, to just name a few, are booming.

You will be working with relatively young professionals. The vast majority are between 30 and 49 years of age. Engineering keeps you young!
Both men and women can become engineers. It has become quite common for women to lead innovative projects in the automobile sector, or in the computer lab. So girls, let’s get cracking!

There is always something exciting for an engineering student… far from routine, you will move from the class, to the field, to the lab, working in teams and in companies.
You will meet “enlightened” young people like yourself. Men and women who want to improve the world in a sustainable and concrete way.
As a member of the Student Section of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (MÉNING.ES), you can enter the Student Award of Merit competition (three awards for research in excellence: $7,500, $5,000 and $3,000).
The Ordre also encourages and supports future engineers at university with its Fellowship for Excellence in Graduate Studies. This fellowship, a value of $7,500, is awarded to a student member of the Student Section—Graduate Studies, or a full-time student member. This award showcases the concern for excellence by university students both regarding their grades and their social and community commitment.
